1Introduction
This Refund & Cancellation Policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions. Capitalised terms have the meaning given in those Terms.
This policy is provided in addition to, and does not replace, any statutory consumer rights you may have under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (CPA), where applicable.
2How the Credit Model Works
Lekker is purchased using Financial Year credits. Each credit unlocks one Financial Year for a single entity, allowing you to edit, generate and export financial statements for that Financial Year.
There is no recurring monthly subscription. You purchase credits as and when you need them, and volume-based pricing may apply for bulk purchases as displayed at the time of purchase.
3The First Financial Year (Free)
Your first Financial Year may be provided free of charge, as indicated at sign-up. Because no payment is taken for the first Financial Year, no refund is applicable to it.
4When a Credit Is Purchased
A Financial Year credit is considered purchased once payment has been successfully completed and confirmed by our payment provider. The applicable price is the price displayed at the time the purchase is completed.
5When a Credit Is Used / Redeemed
A Financial Year credit is considered used or redeemed once a trial balance has been imported into the unlocked Financial Year for that entity. Until a trial balance is imported, the credit is treated as unused and remains eligible for a refund. Once a trial balance has been imported, the Financial Year is considered used, the functionality has been accessed, and the credit cannot generally be returned or transferred to another Financial Year.
6Cancelling Your Account
You can stop using Lekker at any time. Because Lekker does not use a recurring subscription, there is no ongoing subscription to cancel — you simply stop purchasing additional credits.
You may request deletion of your account in accordance with our Privacy Policy, subject to our need to retain certain information to operate the Service and comply with legal obligations.
7Unused Credits
Unused, unredeemed credits remain available in your workspace. Any specific expiry period applicable to credits will be communicated at the time of purchase. Where no expiry is communicated, unused credits remain available for future Financial Years.
8Refund Eligibility
Because a credit unlocks immediate access to generation and export functionality, refunds are generally considered on a case-by-case basis and are more likely to be available where a trial balance has not yet been imported.
- •No trial balance imported: if a trial balance has not yet been imported into the unlocked Financial Year, the credit is treated as unused and a refund will be issued on request;
- •Trial balance imported: once a trial balance has been imported into the Financial Year, the year is considered used and a refund is generally not available, as the functionality has been accessed; and
- •Faulty or non-delivered service: where the Service is materially defective or a purchased credit was not delivered, you may request a refund.
9Duplicate or Accidental Payments
If you are charged more than once for the same credit due to a duplicate transaction, or make an accidental duplicate purchase, please contact us. We will investigate and, where confirmed, refund the duplicate amount.
10Failed or Duplicated Transactions
If a payment fails or is duplicated, we will work with you and our payment provider to resolve it. Where a failed transaction did not result in a credit being delivered, no charge should apply. Where a duplication occurred, the duplicate will be refunded.
11Payment-Provider Issues
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. Refunds may be subject to the policies and processing times of those providers. We are not responsible for delays or errors caused by payment providers, but will assist where we reasonably can.
12When a Refund May Not Be Available
A refund may not be available where:
- •A trial balance has been imported into the unlocked Financial Year, meaning the year has been used;
- •The Service was accessed and used as intended;
- •The request is made outside a reasonable period after purchase; or
- •The issue arises from incorrect, incomplete or misleading information you provided.
This does not affect any statutory consumer rights you may have that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, contact us at support@lekkerfinancials.co.za or through our Contact page, including your account details, the relevant transaction and the reason for your request. We may ask for additional information to process your request.
14Processing Timelines
We aim to respond to refund requests within a reasonable period, typically a few business days. Approved refunds will be processed back to the original payment method where possible, subject to the processing times of your payment provider.
15Consumer Rights That Cannot Be Excluded
Nothing in this policy purports to exclude, restrict or modify any right that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under applicable South African law, including rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (CPA) where it applies to you.
Where a statutory right to a refund or remedy applies, this policy operates in addition to, and not in place of, that right.
